The Security 5/2K is a one-of-a-kind event for the security industry. It's the chance for our industry to come together with a common goal in mind—helping children in need. All proceeds generated by the race will be contributed to Mission 500, a nonprofit organization that works closely with the security industry to provide aid to children and families living in poverty in the US.
Your support will help provide food for hungry families, core school supplies, clothing and other essential items. Please join us in fighting poverty in America!
On Wednesday, April 10th pick up your race bib and t-shirt at the Mission 500 booth (Hall G - next to the ISC West Registration Area) between 10AM and 4PM. If you are part of a sponsor team or team with over 15 team members, contact your Team Captain for your race packet first. Race bibs and t-shirts will also be available for pickup on the day of the race.
Shuttle busses will leave from the Sands Convention Center Taxi Ramp from 6:15 AM - 6:45 AM on Thursday, April 11. Arrive early so that you don't miss the bus.
Don't miss the Awards Ceremony on Thursday, April 11th at the Security Systems News Media Stage from 5:00 - 5:45 PM. We will be honoring the 500 Club members, best race time in all categories, and some other exciting news!
Mission 500 is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that works closely with the security industry to serve the needs of children living in severe poverty across the United States. Through corporate sponsorships and donations, the volunteer-driven initiative has distributed more than 13,000 book bags filled with school supplies to students attending Title One schools, provided almost 50,000 weekend meals to children who aren’t promised a meal outside of a school setting, and most recently, donated 300 hope packs filled with school supplies and essential hygiene items for children misplaced by natural disasters. Mission 500 also serves as an advisory team for cohorts in Canada and Latin America. Through this partnership, Mission 500 LATAM is currently sponsoring of 1,000 impoverished children around the world.
The Las Vegas Running Company is a full-service race management company with over 30 years of experience. We stage around 25 road races each year all across Southern Nevada. Our events are a mix of convention runs, local races and charity events that cover the spectrum from 5ks to full marathons.
